Depart from Portland airport. Enjoy dinner served aboard an overnight flight. Early morning arrival in Lisbon. We are met by our Blue Army Tour Escort and transfer to our deluxe motor coach. Before departing to Fatima we will have a panoramic tour of Lisbon including the Church of St. Anthony, the Belem Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and Jeronimos Monastery. After our visit of Lisbon we will go to Santarem to the Church of the Miracle of the Bleeding Host and celebrate Mass. Later in the afternoon, we arrive in Fatima, check into our hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. At night, we will take part in the Candlelight and Rosary Procession. Visit of the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, including the Basilica with the tombs of Jacinta and Francisco (recently beatified) and the Chapel of the Apparitions (Capelinha). Dinner and overnight in Fatima. (D) After breakfast we visit the hamlet of Aljustrel, home of the three shepherd children to whom the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared. Continue to Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared in August 1917, after the children were released from prison. Visit the parish church where the children were baptized and the cemetery. When we return to the Shrine we will have a tour of the Basilica with the tombs of Jacinta, Francisco, Sr. Lucia and the Chapel of the Apparitions. The afternoon is at leisure. Before dinner, we enjoy a video presentation by the Consolata Fathers on the history of Fatima. Again, this evening we will take part in the Candlelight and Rosary Procession. Dinner and overnight in Fatima. (B/D) We depart Fatima after breakfast and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Portuguese countryside, crossing the border to Spain. Enjoy an orientation tour of Burgos upon arrival. A highlight of the tour is a visit to the Basilica of Burgos where Mass can be celebrated. This basilica is one of the three largest and most beautiful basilicas in Spain. Dinner and overnight in Burgos. (B/D) We depart Burgos after breakfast, enjoying the scenic ride through the Pyrenees Mountains en route to Lourdes. We arrive in the afternoon and visit the Shrine of Lourdes. Individuals may wish to take part in an evening Candlelight and Rosary Procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B/D) After breakfast, participate in a walking tour of Lourdes, which highlights the places associated with the life of St. Bernadette. These include the Boly Mill where St. Bernadette was born; the Locale Mill, residence of her parents; the "Cachot", formerly used as a jail, where she lived at the time of the Apparitions; and the Parish Church containing the Baptismal Font where she was baptized. In the afternoon, we can visit the Healing Baths. After dinner, feel free to participate in the Candlelight and Rosary Procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B/D) After breakfast, we depart for Toulouse where we will board a train to Nice. In Nice, we will have dinner before we take our overnight train to Rome. Sleeping berths have been arranged. (B/D) Upon arrival in Rome, we will be met by our Tour Escort, transferred to our bus for breakfast at a local restaurant. After breakfast, we will have a panorama tour of Ancient and Christian Rome. Rome is known as the Eternal city due to its age dating back thousands of years. After unpacking, you may want to stroll to the Trevi Fountain or the Coliseum or just rest. Tonight we will have a welcome dinner. (B/D) After breakfast, we will visit the Vatican Museum and Library, as well as the Sistine Chapel. After lunch (which is on your own we will tour St. Peter's Basilica, the largest Catholic Church in the world. Balance of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Rome. (B/ D) After breakfast at the hotel, we will attend the Papal audience at St Peter's Basilica, joining with pilgrimages from around the world. In the afternoon we will visit the Catacombs, the Appian Way, also visit three of Rome's major basilicas, St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, and St. Paul Outside the Walls. Tonight will be our Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant with music and wine. Overnight in Rome. (B/D) Following breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to Rome's international airport for our return flight to the United States.
