Group IST has almost 25 years experience in providing individuals and organizations with quality cultural travel experiences. Group IST develops its programs with our network of Specialists, who are recognized, local, regional and national professionals at the top of their fields. These Specialists share their knowledge and insights providing an in-depth insiders understanding of what distinguishes a particular culture and what factors shaped its evolution.

Here are some of our specialists:

Anette Isaacs
Born and raised in Germany´s wonderfully picturesque Rhine Valley region, Anette Isaacs can be called a true cosmopolitan. She was awarded with several scholarships for outstanding academic achievement and thus was able to do her graduate work at EMORY University in Atlanta, G.A., the University in VIENNA, and the Free University in BERLIN. The young scholar now holds a Master´s Degree in American Studies, Political Science and History and has been working as an IST Specialist in Germany´s exciting capital Berlin since 1998. In addition to being an accomplished lecturer on numerous historical, cultural and political topics, Anette also serves as the Director of IST Germany, running and organizing all the current and existing IST programs in her native country.

Hugo Stanka
After studying Philosophy and History at the University of Vienna while Deputy Secretary-General for the Austrian United Nations Association, Hugo was appointed to the Austrian National commission for UNESCO and served as Chairman of the Committee for Youth. A native Austrian, Hugo was born in Vienna but has resided in Salzburg for over two decades. Today, Mr. Stanka serves as the Program Director of Group IST in Central Europe, overseeing the development and delivery of the numerous programs offered to this destination. In his spare time Hugo loves to paint, draw, collect musical instruments and just enjoy life. He has been called a true Renaissance Man!

Nicola Mary Hunter Wardle
Nicola Wardle comes from Birmingham, England and now lives with her husband and daughter in Athens. She graduated from Bristol University, in both Classics and Archaeology. The Greek Government and the University of Bristol have awarded her scholarships for her research in the archaeology of the Mycenean World and Hellenistic theatres. The daughter of archaeologists, she has spent much of her life in Greece, living in Greek villages. She has taken part in field projects at Mycenae, Knossos and in Macedonia since she was old enough to wash the clay pots and is the site director for British excavations on Chios. A member of the British School at Athens, she has taught for several years on these subjects that she is so passionate about

Felicia Sherbert
Felicia Sherbert, Director of Wine Programs for Group IST, is the award-winning author and journalist who has written “The Unofficial Guide to Selecting Wine” (John Wiley & Son). She also wrote and edited the best-selling “Windows on the World Complete Wine Course” (Sterling) with wine director Kevin Zraly in 1985, revised the book for the Millennium Edition in 1999, and collaborated on "The Story of Windows on the World" for the 2003 edition. Felicia is currently working on her latest book, "What's My Wine?".

In addition to books, Felicia is a contributing editor and columnist for Market Watch magazine and a regular columnist and in-house wine expert for wineanswers.com. Her articles have appeared in a number of publications including Wine Spectator, Food Arts, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Magazine, Southern Cooking & Lifestyles, and The Record, and they are often featured in web sites such as fabulousfoods.com, iVillage.com, and ChefMom.com.

Thomas Abbott
A native of St Paul, Minnesota, Thomas Abbott spent his undergraduate years at Carlton College before moving his residence to Europe in the late 1980’s. He did his graduate studies in Berlin and works now as an expert in the educational department of the Foundation of Prussian Castles and Gardens in Potsdam.

Dr. Prentiss Dunn
Dr. Prentiss Dunn is an American born musicologist, choir conductor, organist and music teacher. With degrees in Church Music, piano, musicology and history, he certainly has made music his life. Prentiss offers courses on a variety of subjects including music literature, piano literature and piano pedagogy. In addition to being a private vocal coach, he is also an ordained Episcopal priest and a music teacher at the Vienna International School. His music appreciation classes for the United National Women’s Guild are legendary.
